Discover the great outdoors with some of our Off-site activities. We have everything you need to enjoy a wonderful day, weekend, or even a longer vacation in southern Utah.

Lake Powell Trips

Enjoy a day trip to Lake Powell. Leave at 8:00 AM and be back in time for dinner. You’ll spend 6 hours on the lake exploring, hiking, fishing, skiing, boarding, or just relaxing and taking in the views. Lunch and snacks are included.

  • Basic Price – $2500. – 8 Max guests
UTV Guided Tours

Explore the most ground in Wayne County with a guided UTV Tour. You have your choice of a 2 or 4 hour guided trip and can bring 1-5 guests.

  • 2 hr ($163 – $275)
  • 4hr ($163 – $500)

Book with us for your bird or big game hunt. Our casitas are perfect for our hunting guests. They have locked storage rooms and a cleanup area. There is plenty of room for UTV’s.

Guided Nature Walks/Hikes

Lace up your hiking boots and hit the trails at Capitol Reef National Park. Go on your own or take a guide along to keep you on track and teach you about your beautiful surroundings.

Guided Fly Fishing

Cast a line on the Fremont River or any of the other nearby streams and lakes as you enjoy a guided fly fishing excursion.

  • Basic (Half-day) – $325 for 2 people
  • Full Day – $495 for 2 people
  • Private Waters (Half-day) – $450 for 2 people
  • Full Day – $650 for 2 people

Descend into our region’s canyons and see Grand Staircase-Escalante like never before with a canyoneering adventure. Tours are available in a wide range of lengths and difficulty levels. Our 4 to 6 mile rappel from 80 to 275 feet is open to those as young as 7-year-old for the lower rappel or 14-years-old for the higher option. No experience necessary.

Art Galleries

Take a break from the outdoors and pop into one of Torrey’s art galleries located along Torrey’s Main Street.

Llama Hikes

For a truly unique experience, strap your pack to the back an adorable llama and set out on a hike. All ages are welcome, with those aged 7 and younger joining for free. You can opt for a shorter 2-hour hike or a full-day adventure.

  • Starting at $85/per person
Farmers Market

Stroll Main Street and shop for delicious, fresh local produce, baked goods, soaps and more with a visit to the farmer’s market, open Saturdays from 4 to 6 pm.

Jeep Tours

Want to explore the backroads but prefer someone else to drive? We have multiple tours available, including our favorite, a 6-hour excursion into Cathedral Valley.

  • Starting at $175/per person
Horseback Riding

Saddle up and trot away on a horse ride in the red rocks or up Boulder Mountain. The minimum age for this excursion is 8-years-old, and rides can be as short as 2 hours or as long as a full-day.

  • Starting at $90/per person 2 hours – full day rides available.
Local Cultural Activities

If you’re lucky enough to be in town around the 4th of July, you can partake in Torrey Independence Day festivities, including pageants, a parade, a 5k, pie eating contests, and even the racing of the apples along the canal on Main Street. The Torrey Town Fireworks are spectacular! Other festivals occur throughout the year.

Night Sky Parties

Celebrate and share the beauty of our night skies. Cougar Ridge can create a  “Star Party” throughout the summer season. Star parties need to be booked in advance, so please call for more information. Star parties can be onsite or in Capitol Reef National Park (Cathedral Valley). Our area is one of the best Night Sky viewing areas in the country.

Other National Parks

Cougar Ridge is the perfect home base for exploring other National and State parks. Besides Capitol Reef, these parks are also close by:

  • Bryce Canyon: 2 hours
  • Zion National Park: 3 hours
  • Goblin Valley: 1.5 hours
  • Moab: 2.5 hours (Arches & Canyonlands)
  • Escalante: 1.5 hours
