5 Restaurants to Try During Your Stay in Torrey Utah Rentals

Aug 30, 2023 | Cougar Ridge Lodge, Surrounding Area | 0 comments

When you’re ready to eat during your stay in our Torrey Utah rentals, you have a few options to choose from. While we don’t have an on-site restaurant, there are a few dining options at Cougar Ridge.

Every day from 7 am to 10 am, we offer complimentary breakfast in our reception center. This is the perfect spot to grab a bite to eat and a coffee before heading out to explore the area.

For lunch and dinner, you can order a grill box ahead of your stay. Each of our villas features a Traeger grill on the deck for guest use. Our grill boxes feature meat sourced from Oyler Family Farms, located in Bicknell, Utah. They include fresh, pasture-raised meats, and a selection of salads, veggies, dessert, and more. If you’re planning to spend a day at our resort enjoying our many on-site amenities, these grill boxes are the perfect evening meal.

In The Grand Lodge, multiple full-service kitchens allow you to cook your own meals. Or, we can help you arrange for a local private chef to come and cook meals for your group.

While we recommend taking advantage of these on-site dining options, there are also several restaurants to choose from just a short drive away. We’ve already covered some of our favorite restaurants in Torrey. But keep reading to learn a few more dining options during your stay in Torrey hotels.

1. The Rock Garden

The Rock Garden is a simple, laid-back restaurant serving breakfast and dinner for just a few hours each day. Breakfast is available from 7 a.m. to 10 a.m. daily, and features classics like pancakes, hot skillets, and breakfast burritos. Dinner, available from 5 pm to 9 pm daily, includes a mix of hot sandwiches, tacos, salads, and burgers. This is a great spot to grab a quick bite during your stay in Torrey UT vacation rentals.

2. El Charro Negro

The next spot on this list isn’t a true restaurant. Instead, El Charro Negro is a tasty food truck serving a variety of Mexican food. Tacos, nachos, enchiladas, and quesadillas are on the menu. But perhaps their biggest seller is the Torta el Charro, a sandwich topped with refried beans, ham, sausage, bacon, and veggies, served with a side of fries.

3. Chak Balam Mexican Restaurant

Another tasty dining spot to try during your stay in our Torrey Utah rentals is also known for its Mexican food. Chak Balam Mexican Restaurant is a local favorite serving up traditional Mexican dishes made with fresh ingredients. They even serve breakfast, with selections like a Mexican omelet, Carne Asada con Huevos, and breakfast burritos.

4. Torrey Grill & BBQ

After a long day of hiking in Capitol Reef or enjoying an off-road adventure, nothing beats a hot, filling meal of tasty homemade BBQ. One of the best spots in town for just that is Torrey Grill & BBQ.

Chef Peter Cole serves up mouth-watering, slow-smoked, char-grilled BBQ, including pork spareribs, spice-rubbed grilled salmon, Angus ribeye steak, and more. While there isn’t an indoor dining room, diners can eat beneath the enclosed pavilion, located adjacent to an RV park. After dinner, you’ll definitely want to order a scoop of homemade old-fashioned cobbler, or a hot fudge brownie with ice cream.

5. Rock Reef Cafe

Red Reef Cafe is a diner-inspired family restaurant with a menu that’s sure to have something for the whole family. Choose from burgers, steaks, trout, and pasta, or a pizza made on their famous homemade crust. They also serve breakfast, with Rise & Shine combos that feature ribeye, trout, or country-fried steak, as well as a selection of omelets, pancakes, chicken and waffles, and more. There’s even an outdoor patio where you can dine while enjoying the stunning views that surround you.
