Tips for Mastering Corporate Retreat Planning

Oct 31, 2022 | Cougar Ridge Lodge | 0 comments

A corporate retreat is a great opportunity to celebrate your company’s hard work, help your employees connect and improve their teamwork, and to host important training sessions and meetings. But corporate retreat planning is complicated. Whether you’re hosting 5 employees or 50, there are tons of details you have to consider. Where will your guests sleep? What will they eat? How will they get to the location of your retreat?

At Cougar Ridge, we welcome business retreats, conferences, and other work events. If you’re thinking about hosting a corporate retreat in 2023, keep reading to learn a few tips to help you master your next work retreat.

Take the Stress Out of Meal Time

Corporate retreat planning means making endless decisions and coordinating every detail of every day. But one of the most important decisions you’ll make is about how, when, and where to feed your guests.

Well-fed guests are better able to focus through long meetings and enjoy themselves during their free time. But getting your group to and from restaurants is complicated and time-consuming. Meal time can quickly turn into multiple hours-long affairs, cutting into your time for work and fun. Add in coordinating transportation, working with restaurants to set aside space, deciding how much each employee can spend, and simply planning out meals can quickly become the most time-consuming part of corporate retreat planning.

While Cougar Ridge may not have an on-site restaurant, we offer something even better. We offer fully-catered meals, filled with a variety of delicious, customizable meals. Your meals come to you, which means no wasted time or complicated transportation plans. Employees can go straight from their morning meetings to a tasty lunch, then straight on to some fun afternoon activities.

Give Your Employees Their Own Space

While the purpose of a corporate retreat is to do some team building and to get some work done, you’ll no doubt want your employees to have a good time as well. Whether you’re packing your schedule with meetings or setting aside down-time to enjoy some of Cougar Ridge’s unique amenities, where your guests stay will have a big impact on how they feel about your next corporate retreat.

Standard hotel rooms are hardly designed for rest and relaxation. Often cramped and lacking character, they feel like what you’d expect of a standard corporate retreat. Looking to take your retreat to the next level? Cougar Ridge can help.

From our stunning Grand Lodge to our private villas, you can’t go wrong with any of our accommodation options. For smaller retreats, the Grand Lodge offers private suites for your guests, with special touches like private hot tubs, en-suite bathrooms with claw-foot tubs, and stunning views of the Scotch Mountain Range. Your guests can also take advantage of the Grand Lodge’s other amenities, like a theater room, bowling alley, fitness center, spa, and more.

Our private Villas are another great option, either on their own or in addition to the Lodge to accommodate additional guests. Each Villa features two bedrooms, with a king-sized bed in one, and two queen-sized beds in the other. A separate living room offers a TV and sitting area, and a private patio complete with a deck is great for enjoying the views of Cougar Ridge’s stunning property.

No matter which option you choose, you’ll be guaranteed that your guests can relax and unwind at the end of a long day of meetings and fun.

Elevate Your Corporate Retreat With Unique Activities

Hosting meetings and training sessions during your retreat might be at the top of your must-do list. But don’t forget to set aside some time for fun! In addition to rewarding your employees for their hard work and helping them get motivated before their return to the office, the right activities can also double as a great opportunity for some team building.

Luckily, Cougar Ridge has no shortage of options for activities and fun, both on property and nearby. Host a private rodeo for your guests to enjoy. Schedule a painting, wine and beer making, or photography class. Plan an evening of stargazing or roasting marshmallows around the campfire. You can also plan a day trip to Capitol Reef National Park, located just a short drive from Cougar Ridge. Or, book a scheduled tour, like an off-road adventure, photography tour, or a guided day of fly fishing in the Fremont River.
